our History
Mission Statement
Nehemiah’s Vision exists to share the love of God through the effort of spiritual and physical restoration as led in God’s Word to serve citizens hurt by natural and unnatural disasters.
Nehemiah’s Vision is a non profit organization dedicated to restoring the physical and spiritual damage resulting from natural and unnatural disasters. Nehemiah’s Vision was founded in 2005 when a group of believers in Christ responded to the calling of Christ to serve in New Orleans and the damage surrounding the city when Hurricane Katrina struck. This group of faithful servants were barely getting started when disaster struck in their own backyard in Southeast Texas- Hurricane Rita made landfall just days after in Southeast Texas. It was abundantly clear that God had positioned this group of faithful servants to serve in a way only he could imagine. Nehemiah’s Vision partners with all churches and denominations. Nehemiah’s Vision serves less fortunate and elderly first and then tends to those who may have fallen between the cracks. The group of believers founded a 501c3 that is now known as Nehemiah’s Vision. This organization has made countless impacts on people’s physical and spiritual restoration over the past 2 ½ decades, thousands of homes received help from Nehemiah’s Vision and we are very excited to see what God has planned for us next.
How we help
Nehemiah’s Vision has changed its Mission Statement to now include “unnatural” disasters. This encompasses all unseen tragedies that could affect someone’s home in their time of need. We are currently working on some home projects for people who have experienced medical conditions which made their home’s entry ways impassable to them. Wheelchair ramps to the entryways are giving these people their sense of mobility and freedom back.
There is another family which suffered a house fire which caused extensive fire and water damage to their home. Nehemiah’s Vision is currently trying to see what needs could be met inside their home to once again give them their home back. Through the physical needs of the home but all while sharing God’s love and grace with these poor people who feel abandoned and reaching out for help.
Get involved
Nehemiah’s Vision is committed to reestablishing and growing relationships with past partners and more importantly new partners to see that as many of the needs of people affected by these disasters and tragedies are tended to and met. Nehemiah’s Vision is actively looking for Churches, Service providers, volunteer groups (adult and youth), businesses, and any member of our communities who are wanting to take an active part in helping affected families and their homes get back on their feet. Whether through volunteering, donations, or networking in any manner to help get the many needs in our communities met.
