Why give to Nehemiah's Vision?
During the rebuild process God's Love in Action is demonstrated not only to the homeowners, but to the communities and the many thousands of volunteers that help with its work. Not only do many of those scared by the disaster commit and rededicate themselves to Christ, but many of the volunteers do as well. The volunteers, often for the first time, are able to sacrificially give of themselves. Their spirit becomes awake to Christ as they serve. Many arrive home enthused about the role of the local church and make personal commitments to Mission work.
Nehemiah's Vision is currently working in various areas of Southeast Texas ministering to those impacted by Hurricane Ike. Our goal is to extend our ministry far beyond its current geographic restraints. When hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, fires and other devastations strike in the USA, there is a need for Nehemiah's Vision.
Using 10,000 volunteers, donated tools, equipment and money, Nehemiah's Vision has made $8,000,000 in repairs to 700 homes and churches. Every $50 donated represents $1,000 in repairs.
