CHURCH VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Shout out Christ’s Love through Faith-in-Action

Since 2005 Nehemiah’s Vision has shouted Christ’s love as it rebuilt and repaired hundreds of homes and churches devastated by disaster like hurricanes and wild fires. This could not have been done without the selfless efforts of our volunteers.

When a disaster, like a tornado or hurricane hits, most of the focus is on the houses damaged and destroyed. But, each damaged home represents lives that have been changed, families who faced the shock and sorrow of lost possessions, livelihood, and even loved ones.  For many, their lives then turn into a continuing nightmare as they discover their insurance company refuses to pay, goes bankrupt or agrees to pay only a fraction of what’s needed.  These people, especially the elderly and infirmed, are who Nehemiah’s Vision and our heroes’ minister to.

Our volunteer ministry is designed to provide an opportunity for your members to share in the joy of serving those in need. During the rebuilding process God’s love in action is demonstrated not only to the homeowners, but to the communities and the many thousands of volunteers that help with its work. Your volunteers have the opportunity to meet physical and spiritual needs in a truly unique experience.  Not only do many of those scarred by the disaster commit and rededicate themselves to Christ, but many of the volunteers do as well.

Through its use of volunteers, donated materials and equipment, and demonstration of wise grant stewardship by year’s end Nehemiah Vision would have repaired over 700 houses using almost 10,000 volunteer heroes. With over 200,000 volunteer hours Nehemiah’s Vision has completed more than 8 million dollars in repair. But, the work continues.

We need you and your church to mobilize to help bring hope to those who have lost it.
