It seemed like just another day. Douglas and Sandra were coming home from a trip into town when they saw the smoke. When they got home, they saw the remains of what used to be there house, totally destroyed.
In the 40 years they have been married, they have grown accustomed to transitions; they moved around quite a bit during his military career. After his retirement they came to Paradise, where they have lived for fifteen years. The loss of their first permanent home and everything in it has been very hard for them.
They are staying in a small camper trailer with their grandson Austin until their new home can be built.
